Colourstrings Australia was founded
by violinists Yuri and Sally-Ann Djachenko in Brisbane
in the year 2000. We are a modest organisation dedicated to
the promotion of the music education and performing
heritage of Hungarian brothers, Csaba and Géza Szilvay.
We work closely with them and also with leading
Colourstrings colleagues across Australia. In addition,
we collaborate with leading Colourstrings
colleagues in the UK and Finland and our counterpart
organisations in those countries.
Our long-term
vision
is to build a culture of
Kodály-based
string teaching in Australia, based on the Colourstrings
curriculum developed by the Szilvay brothers and their
colleagues at the East Helsinki Music Institute in Finland. |
